Conscious Clothing made three different bridesmaids' dresses to very different specifications, and my wedding dress (a modification on one of the standard styles). The originality of the designs and fabric, and Crystal's flawless design sense, made my wedding truly amazing.

I loved everything about my wedding dress from Conscious Clothing. I was a little hesitant to buy a dress on-line but when they sent me the mock up of the dress (the Basic Strapless) I could see that it was a good fit for me. The order process was simple and they were so great to work with.

My experience with Crystal at Conscious clothing was better than I could have imagined. She was so professional and creative. She worked with me on the exact dress I wanted and even tailored it to fit my style. I really wanted my dress to be made out of organic and all natural material! Also, it helped that I live close to the store so I could go in for personal attention. It felt so good to buy a dress from a real dressmaker and not some "walmart" bridal shop.

I was looking for a socially conscious dress & this was a beautiful, perfect match. This dress was made out of a hemp silk blend, and was sewn by a seamstress in the USA, not a sweatshop. I got lots of complements! Crystal was great to work with -- I live in New Jersey but am from (and got married in) New Mexico so I was able to do a fitting with her, but then did most of the rest of the transaction online. That meant she sent me a sample muslin that was the dress pattern, but cut out of rough cloth. I took it to a seamstress to fit it, and then sent the pinned muslin back to Conscious Clothing. Had I been getting married in New Jersey, she would have sent the finished dress back to me and I'd take it to a seamstress here for final alterations. Since I got married in New Mexico, she did the final alterations.
I had some antique lace from my grandmother that I wanted to get attached to the dress at the bottom. Crystal figured out how to arrange the odd sized but beautiful lace and added it to the dress. It looked gorgeous! There was a slight problem with the fit, which she fixed -- even as she dealt with a death in the family. I would highly recommend Conscious Clothing.
If you do work with them online, make sure you have a good seamstress do your fitting and realize that the dress will fit almost exactly like the (test) muslin except that there will be a liner. My seamstress fit the muslin exactly tightly, and Crystal needed to adjust it to make it a little bigger. She did that invisibly and quickly, but if you want to keep it simple, make sure you raise any concerns at the beginning. I almost was fit by a tailor at the cleaners who just looked at the muslin on me & said -- looks right. It would have been a disaster if I did that.
